桃花源記 TAO HUA YUAN JI BY COLETTE FU
Colette Fu’s 14 x 22 ft. book is inspired by a Jin Dynasty tale of a traveler who came upon an isolated valley beyond a cave filled with blossoming peach trees. The villagers in the valley lived an ideal, harmonic life with nature and each other. Although villagers told the traveler not to disclose their location, he vainly marked his path and sent government officials, who were unable to find the valley. To the Chinese, this story is a metaphor for Utopia, where the peach blossom symbolizes luck, love, longevity, and to some—immortality.
Free parking is available at PPAC, on the street, or in the lot across from 1400 N. American Street. Front Street Café is a 10-minute walk from PPAC. Uber cars will also be available to transport guests.
