Teen Photo is currently in session. Register now for the 2018 - 2019 school year!
Teen Photo is a free after-school program open to any Philadelphia public high school student. It is a transformative experience for each teen who participates. Every student receives 8 months of free access to PPAC’s equipment, materials, and expert teaching staff, as well as a DSLR camera to borrow for the entire school year. Together, students share their images and ideas about their lives, building self-confidence as well as technical skills.
Teen Photo runs from September to May with two-hour weekly meetings, one day a week. Students involved in the program go on field trips to art exhibitions in Philadelphia, create a book of their classes work, and exhibit their photographs in PPAC’s gallery. PPAC provides a digital camera, free printing supplies, and other exciting opportunities outside of PPAC. Teens must be enrolled in a Philadelphia public high school to qualify.
Classes are held Monday - Thursday from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.
Please register with the student's information below. If the student does not have an email address or cell phone the parent/guardian must provide their contact information. Enrollment is limited to 60 students. Students will have an informal group interview and information session prior to acceptance into the program.
Students only need to register once. An email will be sent from the Teen Photo Coordinator in August 2018 with the application and info session information. A follow-up email will be sent with the interview time once the application is filled out.
